Daghi Iris WIP Part 03 Base Color, Detailing, Weathering and Finishing

Please be aware that i'm not an expert at doing this. It's just for a mutual love for building models. Most of this is from me just dabbling and visualization from the top of my head.

Be also aware i do mostly No Grades as i have a ton of them that i bought years ago.

Base color mix Black Green, This will be the main color.
Masking to apply the lighter green. And then Airbrush it on!! This will always be favorite part of model building. This is where the magic comes alive

...And the best part, seeing how the two colors look together. Love it So far!!!

Now I'm just going to hand brush all the colors that are A bit less on the suit.

Little bits of detail really help out alot especially on these older kits!!

Love also there is some nice after market parts to use out there like photo etching. thought these would look good on some vent areas.
I think they're vent areas.

Just going to use a neutral gray wash to brush on and dab the excess off with a towel. Kind of gives it a smoky filth like it's been standing on smoldering rubble.

Adding the decals as i go so now is the time to get this thing DIRTY!!
Side by side comparison

I'm starting to like this. I like how it dulled down the decals quite a bit.

Using the same lighter green to drybrush the sharper edges and then Natural Steel to give it a chipping and blemish effect.

Now since i like to weather and drybrush as i assemble i'll go ahead and assemble from the ground up.

There were a few things i forgot to clean on this kit that a friend pointed out to me but hopefully fixed them properly along the way.

You'll get to see the wings when i take the real pics. ;)

Final part was the shield. I put the Crossbone sticker on the shield but it didn't look too great and i painted the surface that light green but then i totally forgot to battle damage it. So i stripped it back down to the primer and did so then primed again and kept it dark. Any excessive acrylic paint on the edges i cleaned off by wiping it of with a towel with alcohol but then again you'll see the end look when i post the real pics.

Cant wait to post the real pics soon. Enjoy.
